Recently, Ningde Times won 19GWh energy storage orders, ushering in a "red start" in the overseas energy storage market in 2025, and refreshing the world's largest energy storage system order record.
On January 17, at ABU Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), the UAE's international renewable energy company Masdar announced its preferred contractor and supplier for the world's first large-scale "all-weather" photovoltaic energy storage giga-class project.

As the preferred supplier of the battery energy storage system (BESS) for the project, Ningde Times will provide leading TENER technology with a total capacity of 19GWh, featuring all-round safety, long life and high integration to ensure reliable, stable and efficient operation throughout the project life cycle.
According to the information released by Masdar, the supply of TENER Tianheng energy storage system is "five years zero attenuation", and the 20-foot container 6.25MWh Tianheng energy storage system released in April 2024 is the world's first energy storage system to achieve five years of power and capacity zero attenuation, which is also a blockbuster product for Ningde Time to explore DC side energy storage.
Located in ABU Dhabi's Al Azeezah area, the project is the world's largest photovoltaic energy storage project to date and will be equipped with a 5.2GW photovoltaic plant and 19GWh energy storage plant that can provide 1GW of "round-the-clock" dispatchable electricity. The 19GWh battery energy storage system will enable photovoltaic power stations to be seamlessly connected to the grid, overcoming the intermittency problem of renewable energy.

Abdulaziz Alobaidli, Chief Operating Officer of Masdar, said: "This record project, which we are developing with the UAE Hydropower Company (EWEC), is a great step forward in the clean energy transition, overcoming the intermittency challenge of renewable energy and enabling clean energy dispatch 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is also Masdar's largest project to date.
In addition, JinkoSolar and JA Solar are the preferred suppliers of photovoltaic (PV) modules for the project, and Larsen & Toubro and Power China Construction Group have been selected as the preferred Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors for the project.
